Personal history
Taheri was elevated from nobility to royalty when her brother, Taylan Talat, became King of the newly-formed Kingdom of Ostar. She was 37 years old when the family left Kingdom of Delryn for the new land which would later become their Kingdom, and serving as advisor and lady's maid to not-quite-yet-a-princess Myria Dell.
The knowledge she had gained at Myria's side served her well as her brother's chief advisor, and the siblings were quite close. Taheri married and had a son, Beyhan Talat, though he was raised in his uncle's household as a son of the King and a Prince from a very young age. She, rather than either of her brother's wives, managed the royal household until her death and was primarily in charge of the early education of the King's children.
Sexuality
Other than bearing a single son, Taheri seemed to have no interest in her husband, who served what seemed to all as a purely decorative function at court. Some documents claim that she was instead romantically involved with one of Taylan's wives, though the records are unclear on which one. Other rumors circulated that her husband was in fact infertile - perhaps even neutered - and that her son was actually Taylan's, this rumor driven by how closely Beyhan resembled his cousin Roshan, but critics were quick to point out that Taylan's second wife was actually a sister of Taheri's husband, and closely resembled Taheri besides, to hand-wave away the twinlike appearance of the boys, who were also very close in age.
