Principality of Staton
The Principality of Staton, common called Staton, is located on the Eastern half of the continent Saman. It is 23,000 m2 in area. It shares the continent with the Principality of Heirin and the Triumverate of Nikandros. It also shares maritime borders with the Brilliant Empire mainland, the Oskksulian Protectorate, and the United Tribes of Mare'n. The capital is Fison.
Most humans who emigrate to Heirin retain their Eschien identities. Population Centers
Most of Heirin's large populations are it's port cities and a few other larger cities along the waterways. Inland settlements tend to be villages and towns, as the continent is still vastly unsettled by humans. The capitol Fison lies at the base of the Tenedes mountains. Languages
Common Religion
Most people who live in Staton are followers of The Senary.
Staton wraps around the deep, calm Bay of Sorrows to the east and touches the Ash Sea, the Whispering Sea, and the Great Sea. It holds Tenedes mountain range. Otherwise, it is relatively flat with rolling hills. Climate and Biomes
The country has mostly mixed forests to the north, which turn into tundra and boreal forests along the southern and eastern coasts. Staton experiences four seasons, with mild summers and deep winters. Areas in the Southernmost part of the continent might reach lows in the 10-15* range at the coldest, with highs of mid-70s in the middle of summer. In the North, they tend to see lows in the 20s and highs in the 80s.
Staton is a Principality of the Empire, and its citizens and Monarch are bound by the rule of the Empire. Succession is generally understood to be the eldest child of the Monarch; however, the Monarch of Staton holds their position at the pleasure of the Empire, who can change the order of succession or appoint a new Monarch at any time. In the event that a Prince or Princess does not produce a child to secure the succession, the succession falls to whomever the Emperor pleases.
Foreign Relations
The Empire limits how much trade its vassals can do with non-Empire nations, keeping them hobbled just enough to keep them from getting any ideas. Staton is one of the Empire's main suppliers of lumber, and they also do quite a bit of herding of sheep, goats, small fowl, and the like. Staton also has excellent hunting, and is a playground for the wealthy of the Empire. Economy
The Empire produces most of what it needs within the Empire, and has robust trade with Galanthis and Nikandros. They also do some trade with Mare'n and the Maarches. Some of the vassal states do trade with the other nations, but it is discouraged.
