Hillstone

Hillstone is a blue-veined sandstone found only in United Tribes of Mare'n's territory in Westra. The base color can vary from a light, eggshell off-white color to a deep reddish-orange, though the light and medium colors are far more common. The blue layers, which can be as thin as a thread or very thick, are sometimes simply colored mineral deposits, but sometimes are veins of other semi-precious stone, such as lapis lazuli, sodalite, purple turqouise, etc. The blue may range from a light blue to dark blue to even some blueish shades of purple.
Uses
Hillstone is used for many purposes, from structural to decorative. Smaller pieces, especially with more blue, are often carved into jewelry, statues, dishware, etc. Larger pieces are used for bigger structures and even buildings, most notably the Great Library.
Trade Good
Hillstone is popular and highly sought for uses outside of Mare'n. It is rare and expensive, in part because it is hard to transport in large quantities and in part because the tribespeople simply don't harvest that much of it and don't usually let strangers do it for them.
