Star Roweth: Bride of Astera

Star Elise Roweth

Credited as the first mortal Bride of Astera and the saviour of Cynia, Elise Roweth is responsible for many of the structures that allow the church to hold as much power as it does to date.

Personal history

Born shortly after the Fall of Magic, Elise Roweth was the daughter of a former noble family. She grew up with tales of what the world had been like before magic fell, and was raised strictly under the guidance of religious leaders of the time. While devout followers of Solix, their outlook on the world was rather dark, claiming that the world was soon to end as their once mighty empire had already crumbled.
Elise did not subscribe to this school of thought. Seeing how the common people's need for comfort and healing after such a disaster was going unmet and how disorganized and disconnected the priests were in their teachings, she resolved that the system must be changed. After many days and nights of prayer, Nexis Ethera herself appeared to give the young woman her blessing. It is said that Nexis even bound herself to Elise, making her the first Avatar of the Life Giver. The next day, Solix himself appeared before her to declare her his bride.
Under the guidance of the goddess and with the words of Solix in her ear, Elise set out to reform the Astralan faith, gathering the priests together to form the Astralan Church as it is known today. She became the first Star in the church's leadership and made great strides in the early formation of the Kingdom of Cynia.
It is said that every system, every belief, every rule the church operates under, was designed and decreed by Star Roweth. Many of those still go unchallenged to this day.
