A traveling Brujah named Maxwell came to Chicago upon its incorperation in 1837, claiming Praxis of the Domain.
Prince Maxwell was the first to officially lay claim to Chicago in 1837. He had amassed support within the small Kindred community and was generally well liked. His greatest boon was his alliance with Gangrel elder, Inyanga, a respected member among the Camarilla populace and her clan Gangrel. This, coupled with the large Brujah and Gangrel population of Chicago at the time meant that Maxwell attained his position.
This was not popular among the Ventrue and Toreador of Chicago, some of which attempted to depose Maxwell, all unsuccessful.
