Ask any kindred around Chicago and they will speak glowingly of the young neonate, they shower her with affectation and admiration for her mere existence. It's not hard to blame them, if you ever were to meet Portia, you would be overwhelmed by this statuesque beauty before you. It would be as if you were in the presence of a Goddess. Very few pierce past this surface layer of Portia's identity, those that do see something far more sinister than that.
An extremely elusive and mysterious 'neonate', those that see past the veneer Portia projects can see someone far more connected and capable of the games that are being played within Modern Nights. She wields vast influence and power, able to bend and subjugate the will of many - perhaps even reality itself. But perhaps what's worse is that by piercing past this veneer, not only do you see the facade for what it is, but you have gained something far more deadly - her interest.
Portia would come across the Undecided Coterie briefly. During the Elysium at the Neo-Futurist Theatre where the Lasombra announced their presence, Portia would dance with J.R. She would whisper something into his ear. After he regained his senses, she was gone.
The next piece of interest would come with Elyse as she sought for someone to teach her Blood Sorcery. What followed was a haze of ecstasy and blood tinged excess. Elyse would find herself waking weak and with a growing hunger. What's worse, she became bound to Portia. When Elyse was trying to settle a deal for her Cartel bodyguards, the head of the Cartel, Marquez, asked to speak with her 'boss'. After exhausting all her options of who this 'boss' was, Portia would summon Elyse and 'settle' the issue. Watching this was Jack, who Portia noticed. Portia would force a message in Jack's head, asking him to join them. Jack would run away.
Following this confrontation, Portia would next arrive during the elysium at the Asylum. She would dance with Jack and the two shared a conversation. Portia would tell Jack exactly what the Primogen Council would do in answer to his existence within the city. Revealing the depth of her control and influence within Chicago. She would dominate Jack telling him to subject to the Primogen Council blood bond and when to turn on Maxwell after he has ascended the throne.
Portia would gain interest in Ace after he strengthened his blood becoming Brujah, while he was under the influence of the Crawling Tongue. When the Asylum Coterie came to the chantry with the 'crawling tongue', Portia would try to dominate Ace into handing the tongue to her. With his strengthened vitae, Ace was able to resist Portia. While a monumental victory, it also had the unfortunate side effect of gaining Portia's attention.
Elyse and Jack were summoned by Portia to an industrial area of Chicago. They would meet Mother Anja of the Munich Hecata who had been contracted by Portia to deal with a clean up job underneath the city. The two would descend into a mining area underneath the city where Elyse would receive memories of being there before. They would meet Portia in an ancient looking ceremony room beneath the city. The truth of many things were uncovered at this point. It was revealed that she had been behind the explosion on Chicago University, the explosion covering the tracks of the mining operation for the ancient ceremony room. She also revealed that Elyse's faithful ghoul, Chad, had been a servant of Portia this whole time. Elyse would have little time to think of revenge, as the cartel leader, Miguel would shoot Chad under Portia's command.
During all this, the Nosferatu nemesis of Elyse, Martin, would gloat over her. Portia would open a blood portal by sacrificing a number of mortals and finally Martin by stabbing him during his gloating. Portia would task Elyse and Jack with returning with a sarcophagus on the other side of the portal in a Aztec temple in Mexico. As fate would have it, the whole coterie would re-unite in the temple where they would be attacked by infernal forces. Only enough charges in the portal power for three individuals, Jack and Elyse leapt through the portal - leaving Lou and Ace behind with one charge left in the portal. Lou would push Ace through the portal, sacrificing himself.
On the other side, Portia would show the extent of her power and force the coterie to stand in dumbstruck awe of her presence. She would dominate and wipe their mind of her manipulations, attributing everything to the goddess Helena of Troy.
Portia would meet with Silvana when the Young Undead went to the Chantry. The two would share words between one another. This exchange would end with Portia issuing a directive to Silvana to 'protect Ace... Until the time is right.' Using this new command and desire to her advantage, she would use this as an excuse to leave Portia. Silvana would next run into Portia while trapped within the Labyrinth. Portia was surprised to see Silvana there and would tell her that she was a 'humble neonate' that got trapped under the Succubus Club during the War of Chicago. She says she made her way out, but lost part of her that night and was there looking for herself. Portia would try to feed from Silvana, but Silvana was able to convince Portia to leave her.
