Marcus Kiley

'The Sheriff the South of the Thames is a nice fella - just don't piss 'im off okay? You'll regret it, got a temper that boy.'
South of the river Thames lies South London, a place crawling with Anarch and Duskborn activity. Being far away from the The Ivory Tower's gaze has caused South London to be a haven for those that are not worthy of being within court. Thus, it is a hard task for Sheriff of South London, Marcus Kiley, to keep his domain in check. But still, he manages to do so.   Being a boxer during his mortal life, Marcus is no stranger to violence. He has now taken those skills to the streets with added Potency from his now Kindred vitae. Though he stands an intimidating frame, Marcus is more of a gentle giant. He is more in touch with his humanity than those others within his station. This humanity and acts of kindness are frowned upon by those high in the Ivory Tower. Though those who actually live in South London would argue that you need a humane hand policing an area such as South London - otherwise the area would be a war zone.   Marcus allows Anarchs and Thin Bloods operate within his domain under his authority. Sure, this chaffs at the Anarchs who don't wish to bow to the Camarilla, but those witness to Marcus' power quickly back away before falling back in line. It is a precarious balancing act that Marcus must play, keeping the Camarilla Traditions enforced - while leaving enough leeway that those who oppose Camarilla position never rise up.   As such, South of the Thames is considered by many Kindred as Anarch territory managed and maintained by a Camarilla sheriff. Many of Marcus' contemporaries, such as Cyril Masters, express their disappointment that Marcus maintains little control over his domain. Seeing the Anarch infestation as a failure. Queen Anne agrees publicly, but privately she knows that the Anarchs and Duskborn need a place less they revolt.   Marcus is often seen pining for his lost humanity. He frequents Kine establishments and events, particularly the local Boxing scene. There are even reports that Marcus has started training a few of the Duskborn under his wing. These rumours are troubling and if they were to reach the Queen's ears, she surely would wish this to be investigated.
