Queen Anne

'Queen Anne is a shining example of a Blue Blood ruler. Some may call her rule tyranny, but there is little many can dispute in terms of her effectiveness. When Mithras fell, many thought London to be doomed; Queen Anne laughed at such notions. Look at where London is now, a shining beacon for the Ivory Tower. Without Queen Anne, I have little doubt London would have been lost to those filthy unbound - whether they choose to dub themselves Anarch or Sabbat - they are all disgusting traitors in my books. Queen Anne has and will always continue to have London and the Camarilla's best interests at heart.'

- Lady Scarlett Churchill
When a God fell, there were few Kindred who wished to fill his shoes. Dearly departed Prince Mithras was the status quo of London for so long that many believed the Methusula was Prince eternal. Unfortunately that was not the case. Mithras fell during World War II if reports are to be believed, and why shouldn't they? Despite what the Mythratic Mysteries whisper at their covens, Mithras has been missing since that fateful blitz over London. The God fell. Lady Anne Bowsley graciously took his place and now sits upon his throne.   Lady Anne was not a random choice. She was Seneschal to Mithras, her sire, Valerius had backed her ascendancy to Prince Mithras' vacant regency. She turned a few conservative Camarilla loyalist heads however when she declared herself as not Prince, but Queen of London. Though few Kindred disputed such claims. Those of the lower Clans - argued in hushed whispers that nepotism was at play however. They saw Valerius and Queen Anne as extensions of Mithras' epic rule; many wished to see new blood rule over London. Those whispers were silenced however. Queen Anne proved to be no Mithras proxy however. Where as Mithras was ruling for himself, Queen Anne ruled for the Camarilla. Though those who opposed the Queen in whispers merely saw Queen Anne bowing to the Camarilla as an inevitability given her lessened powers compared to the Methusula Mithras.   Still, few can dispute that Queen Anne's reign has been anything but successful. She brokered peace with many former enemies of London, enemies who wished to pry London just to spite the memory of Mithras. The Anarch incursion has been pushed to the fringes, with many fearing the Queen's iron rule. She has become one of the single most powerful Kindred within Europe, which in of itself is no small feat.   There are rumours though. Very troubling signs that the Queen may be hiding a more devious appetite. This is all however speculation and hearsay - nothing that could ever be proven in Elysia. Even if it could, there is doubt that those who accuse the Queen would leave court with their heads still on their shoulders.
