Eltria Arcane Manufacturing
Founded in 834 by a pair of young inventors, Eltria made the majority of its money and fame creating the massed produced Arc Transport Carriage and its sub-classes.
History
Founded in 834 by a pair of young inventors and Arcanists, Sir Eltria Valdovune, Inventor & Ardella Luci, Inventor, with families having served sometime in the Military complexes of the world. Throughout their families history, there had been a number of complaints that were lobbed at the military and its current equipment. Airships were proving to be a unreliable assest in the field, as the crew was sometimes prone to falling off and dying, or the ships were far too visible and easy to attack. There needed to be another solution to the problem of moving both people and products.
Enter the Air Transportation Carriage, a simple design that modelled itself after the shipping containers used by the larger vessels of the recent years. Most of the time, these shipping containers were made of wood, but the air carriage was designed to be made of slotted metal capable of quick creation and repair in times of damage. The early models were pitched to the local Kingdom military, who funded into the plan and allowed the pair a relative freedom for creative license.
When the third model was finished, tests were compiled and run to determine the effectiveness of the design. It was found to withstand the majority of magical tampering, most forms of magical damage, most forms of natural damage, and could safely house upwards of a hundred people by weight.
In 847 the fifth model was completed and the first versions left the assembly floor for service in the regular transportation units. These were quickly adopted into the ranks of the other armies within the next few months, as the rate of transit and safety had gone up significantly in the process of changing methods.
Unfortunately all things were not well at the home front of the business, as the pair had become enemies over the patenting and ownership of the designs. Each claimed a right to own them outright and offered to pay the other a small stipen for their assistance. This would go on to forma fued between the two inventors, one that would eventually split the company and seperate the pair.
Disbandment
Eltria was a prosperous business with hands in a number of different fields. They held lands that allowed for smithing, growing, crafting, selling, farming, and casting as well as being respected by a number of larger tradesman guilds that were often their rivals on most days. However, with the release of the seventh model of the transport craft (released in 850), the tear between the two inventors had reached a head.
They split the company in two and took equal share of the designs, a fact that everyone involved was most upset by. The dissolution took some time, as the contracts currently in place had to be fulfilled in before they could be released from their service. Then, once released, the factories and facilites were sold and auctioned off, setting the pair each back by some degree.
Sir Eltria Valdovune, Inventor retained the rights to the manufacturing companies relative titles and kept the name, as it bore his name sake, but was reduced by over half his production capabilities after the slip. Ardella Luci, Inventor retained the rights to the mark 2, 4, and 7 after the slipt. Maintaining a hold over the majority of the models produced and used in active service, aside from the model 7.
