Atistius of Veldeport

Atistius of Veldeport is a tale by Ea Roton, Songbird of the Battlefield that tells of a young would-be hero in a small seaside village. The village was small, but the port was its life blood and as such was three times the size of the village overall.
Atistius is introduced as a young child of seven who wishes to join the war and become a hero capable of aiding the kingdom. He dreams of being a knight and serving their Kingdom or the Imperial King. During this time we learn of the war proceeding in the surrounding lands of the continent, somehow avoiding the small village of Veldeport.
TIme progresses and the young Atistius in twelve and becoming something a hooligan. Inbetween his time aboard vessels at sea to earn coin, Atistius picks fights with bar patrons and guards on the street. He often finds himself beaten and bloodied, but all the stronger for it. He has no talent for magic, but learns well with the sword and staff.
Atistius joins a naval defense group during his sixteenth year and becomes a crewman abaord one of the ships sailing for conflict. Dream still set on becoming a hero, Atisitus leads himself and others through a charge when they arrive at their destination, a seaside keep. Leading the charge, he pushes through the defenses and helps usher a victory in mere minutes.
When he returns, he's heralded as a hero and the town throws a celebration for their new conquering champion. Word spreads of the mans deeds, however, and more bandits come to seek revenge for their fallen friend. This leads to several months of raids on the village that Atistius has to lead defenses against, becoming an even greater leader in the process and learning the best ways to instruct his soldiers.
Years later and the Abyssal creatures have taken notice, Atistius is forced into his most difficult fight ever and likely won't survive through it. He calls to the heavens for the aid of the Goddess and is granted strength enough to defend the village one last time, before collapsing into dust from exhaustion after slaying nearly 100 monsters.
