Worm Infested

Observed in Realm 59: Dark Appalachia, living creatures and humanoids can become infested by small worms, apparently subservient to larger subterranean worms.
The worm infestations appear to be of a magical, evil nature. The infected are completely mind controlled, and can gain unusual powers depending on their intelligence.
Killing the source of the infection appears to cure the condition. There is no other known cure.

Transmission & Vectors

It is unknown how the worm infestation spreads. It may spread through contact with the ground, similar to hook worms, but this has been unconfirmed.
