P'scatheus

Since the apparent extinction of magic in Realm 11: World War Lovecraft, scholars and historians began studying ancient and esoteric works related to magic and the gods.   Tales of the eldritch and strange began to permeate the lands of Vladence as modern society became culturally curious with the concept of ulterior magical sources.   After losing all connection to "modern" magic and deities, some began examining older texts that were once only deemed to be fictional writings as possible true accounts relating to the nature of elder gods, whose power could still be tapped into.   Recently a previously lost work of believed fiction, a short story, was discovered and popularized amongst the population of the Alliance for New Age Legionnaires.   It colorfully described an eldritch entity known as P'scatheus. It was described as being merged with the carved earth itself, horrible in its visage and its pervasiveness.   They story described its location as being in a real town, which existed in the heart of the war torn frontlines. It had been inaccessible for decades.   Alliance forces temporarily captured the territory after the reemergence of this short story. A small company navigated to the location described in the story, intending on taking a picture there as a humorous curiosity.   There they found only war-torn earth and deep, lifeless trenches. They posed for their photograph next to a particularly tall mound of upheaved earth.   The developed photograph was confiscated by Alliance military intelligence.
