The history of The Merge and everything after. Years in AM (after merge) for simplicity.

    The Merge
    Disaster / Destruction

At 2pm, Oog began his mighty slumber. In the result of this. The island cities of Libertallia and The Deltier Kingdom merged together. Forming the island and the mountains that will be known as Chimeria by the grandchildren of the survivors. Large swaths of the population of the two died as a result. The immediate surviving civilians elected themselves to set up impromptu support networks at the time. People able elected themselves to dig survivors out of the rubble, search smashed stores for supplies, and set up food shelters. Fishermen who happened to have kept their boats in the wreckage helped in evacuations to lands that couldn't actually help them, as they were also gone. People of this generation will join with continental survivors and turn into what will become the Defence Council of Astros.   Both island cities' governments were decimated in one way or another. The corrupt Delteir royal family and council were all crushed under the rubble of the the palace they lived in. Leaving the, unfortunately equally corrupt army as seeing themselves as assuming they held the power, with the army chief [army chief name] in charge. They were panicking and with many, many guns.   They attempt to create 'order' within their side of the new land. Waving their guns around, shooting 'looters', and setting up martial law. Which sticks for the next ten years. What life of the people truly helping each other with mass executions and brutal rationing.

    The discovery of Chimerian Energy
    Discovery, Scientific

Delteir militiamen find the first recorded discovery of Starlight Energy rock within the main and talled mountain within the Chimerian Mountain range. Shortly after sightings of starlight rain and lightning also started occuring. Oog's energy had started seeping into the mountain. It was initially dismissed as either odd versions of lapis lazuli, a common rock in the old countries, or acid rain respectively. But its true nature became eventually undeniable. Though myth is hazy on the exact reasons it became that way.

    The Last Deltierian War
    Military action

The people, finally fed up of the failing military law and order that has been running the survivor’s lives. A brutal conflict broke out between the army and the civilians. Ending in effectively a double knockout, the remnants of which became the ancestors of the Chimerians.

The Formation of the Nomadic Districts

After the last Delterian War, the remaining people formed together and set up the Mobile Districts, deriving their structure from old scouting groups that were set up during the begining of The Merge to look for survivors and remaining supplies. As time moved on, it became clearer and clearer that a new world and a new people were being made, derived from the people of the past. These people began to call themselves Chimerians and their land Chimeria.

    Discovery of Chimerian Alchemy

The exact dates and reasonings for the discovery of Chimerian Alchemy remain lost to history in a lot of ways. Though it is mythologised in many ways. Tales of starlight accidentally falling into glasses of wine, or the Sun God themsleves telling man of his gifts.   Regardless, this period marks a major surge in the experimentation of and use of Alchemical Spirits in the Nomadic Districts. Witht the first use of the term Spiriters being found here.

    The Growing Movement of Restorationism

From this period to the present day we see an increase in Restorationism among Chimerian Nomadic Districts. Initially this began with a small minority of preachers wanting for the return of the Gnostic traditions and slowly denying the sacredness of the mountains. It began to organise and feel emboldened to start growing during the DCA Settlement Period, as the DCA were more accepting of them (since they were more willing to let settle next to the mountains). After the settlement period, the DCA is starting to encourage conversions to Restorationism, as it helps them both in getting the mountains and in causing division between the Districts.

The First Expaditions of the DCA

Finally, perhaps longer then future scholars would think to be reasonable, someone outside Chimeria finally reaches its shores. They were an expadition crew made up of members of the DCA, lead by an Eliva Kypers. Their language was different, but not too different. As if they came from the same origin point (because well, in a lot of ways, they did). They joined a pilgrimage group, mainly made up of middle-aged men, up to the Chimerian mountains. For them it was just to survay the place. There they found the source of the alchemy they had been introduced to during their travels, Starloght Rock. The report that will be written of this "The Geography of New Hskos", will become one of the sparks that lights the colonial efforts that occur.

    DCA Settlement Period

This period is marked by major efforts from the DCA to form mining towns in and around the Chimerian Mountains. Starting with the founding of New Howe as a gateway onto the island, and spreading out from there. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Astrosans walked their way onto the island, either to mine to repay for their punishments or as prospectors hoping to find wealth with the frenzy of Starlight Energy that the mainland has gained. This was not met kindly at all to the Chimerians, who pushed back hard against the expansion. First without violence, then after forced relocations by the DCA, it blew into a full war which left two Nomadic Districts completely destroyed, and all of the mining towns being built as planned.
