Durlism - Chimerian Religion

In the beginning, there was Durla - the sun and the sky. The life bringer, for they give the heat and energy for the world to survive. As a gift to all her followers, she created the mountains and freed us from the old world so we can start anew. With her gift came alchemy, for which we can flourish. Durlism is the main religion for the Chimerians, derived from teachings and beliefs from The Delteir Kingdom that have been adapted and changed over time and the new world it lives in. The sun god, Durla, remains - as well as their promise to ascend the world into a higher plane of existence. But for the last ~200 years, it seemed that the wish was granted. The old hierarchies were gone and the new Nomadic District system, while never a perfect life, seemed to be an improvement for the most part.
The main tenants of for the religion, as emphasised by its teachings, are:

Communal Identities

The faith and the culture are intrinsically linked in ways that encourage and strengthen the bonds between the members of each Nomad Districts, as well as between Districts whenever possible. Rituals and gatherings for the name of Durla and their people, communal pilgrimages between members of different Districts, etc. The fluidness and the fact that Durlism isn't especially organised means each version of the religion within each nomadic district is slightly different.

Sun Worship

If the sun isn't Durla themselves then it's their will and love made physical. Many rituals, gatherings, and iconogrophy relating to Durla involve depections of the sun. This translates itself into other areas of the faith, such Chimerian Durlists primerally use and wear clothes or ornaments with bright, warm colours. As it's brightness is close to Durla's.

Esotericism

The great mysteries of the world are a fascinating thing. More fervent Durlists tend to also be scholars or Spiriters in one form or another, wanting to understand the secrets of the world in any way they can. This comes as a hold-over from the Delterian Religion's gnostic-esque beliefs of trying to expand and ascend beyond the 'illusionary' mortal realm. Though Durlists may not be scientific to our modern eyes, they're perhaps the closest thing to it on the island.

Restorationism

Restorationism is the newly growing sect of the Chimerian Religion that is aiming to pull it closer to the Delterian beliefs. They adopt the Gnostic-esque parts of the old faith, seeing the mountain and everything that it has created as an abomination that is distracting people from ascending into paradise and banishing the illusion of the mortal realm. This belief is being inadvertently spread by the DCA in their colonial efforts, as believers of Restorationism are more willing to let them mine the mountain for all its worth. Restorationist sees the current Durlist religion as actively hostile, as they don't regard the Gnostic beliefs as literal truth but rather as a metaphor. In an effect, the Durlists are actively sabotaging paradise.
