Cleric Marlow Tide
Cleric Marlow is the siren medic for the royal Pike Family. He alone is responsible for ending the terrible plague that haunted the Asmya Kingdom three years ago.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Marlow appears to be a man in his early seventies with a balding patch in his gray hair. He constantly wears a dark mask over his face to hide a nasty scar left by a bandit who killed his wife.
Special abilities
As all sirens do, Marlow can let out a melodic tone used to control those around him. He doesn't agree with letting people get away with things, especially when it can easily be solved by controlling them and making them turn themselves in, whether they did the crime or not. Now, Marlow, like any siren, cannot control another siren with his ability.
Apparel & Accessories
Marlow can always be seen with his mask and wearing an ocean blue lab coat with a jabot covering a white dress shirt. He has a dark green cane that reflects like snake scales when the sun hits it.
Mental characteristics
Education
Marlow studied at the Circle of Magi, training hard to become something better for his family. He knew that he couldn't stand the way others looked down on them, deciding that his talents as a doctor could outweigh the negative and that he could prove the bullies wrong.
Employment
While he studied at the Circle of Magi, he worked at a small food store, selling groceries. This lasted for a few years, until 1990 OA, before Marlow was able to graduate with top marks and the King recently lost the last Cleric. The Cleric's Coronation was held and Marlow was announced as the new Cleric, where he has since served.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Marlow is considered the youngest medic to ever graduate from the Circle of Magi and become the royal Cleric. He single-handedly cure the plague that threatened the Asmyan Kingdom.
Failures & Embarrassments
While the plague was terrorizing the citizens, Marlow used his gifts to come up with a cure, but during this time he was unable to administer the cure to Mergo before his untimely demise.
Morality & Philosophy
Marlow believes that those who are dying should be put out of their misery, whether in pain or not. He will simply diagnose them and secretly give them something that will end everything. His methods are...toxic at best.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Adrie Pike: The queen and someone easy to manipulate, especially when it comes to her children, Baltic and Mergo. He also uses her to get the king to do what Marlow desires. A little nudge here and there can't be that bad.
Baltic Pike: The crown prince and someone who doesn't trust people easily. Marlow consoled him during Mergo's passing and helped him whenever he needed it.
Eärendil Pike: The king, who is a hardass, remains one of the toughest people to twist into his ranks.
Mergo Pike: Bless this prince's soul. His passing was hard for the royal family and Marlow took it especially hard as he couldn't cure the prince from the plague.
Social Aptitude
Marlow has the instinctive charm to twist any lie into truth. He lets other people stroke his ego to inflate his natural talent and whispers sweet words into the ear of the King and Queen, just long enough for them to trust him and refute anyone's claim against him.
