Brazen Vehicle in Wolf Mania | World Anvil

Codex

Brazen

The Brazen is a simple ship that carries goods between the mainland of Slavoria, Ethor Island, Yedraoze, and the Triol Islands. During their latest trip, they were transporting important goods for the royal Pike Family.

Appearance

The ship is about 1,200 feet long with a dark blue-black hull and red deck. The bridge is a white tier that sits at the back of the ship and where the captain barks out orders. The foremast is a tall beam of a similar color as the deck.

Crew, Passengers, and Cargo

Some of the people aboard pretend to be "crew" to earn free travel between destinations. This would, in turn, make the ship a secret smuggler's den. Only those desperate enough to take up Captain Athtar on his offer of working the ship's undercarriage can gain entry as a form of "crew" until they reach their destination. There are a few people who stay aboard and make themselves permanent members of the crew and can move up the ranks for better accommodations.

Communication Tools & Systems

The ship is able to communicate with its crew and secret passengers via a com system infused with fae magick. Other forms of communication involve carrying important messages back and forth between kingdoms, empires, and the like. The more important it is, the faster it gets relayed.

Sneaky Cargo

While Ker and Mergo Pike were traveling from the mainland to the Triol Islands, they snuck aboard the ship and were caught by a few members of the crew, who dragged them to Captain Athtar. Athtar was more than unhappy that stowaways were on the ship.   He was about to cast them overboard when Mergo piped up and revealed his heritage. Captain Athtar was amused by Mergo's proposal and made him prove himself. Mergo took the deal and showed the royal family birthmark that is on the base of the back of every single member of the Pike Family. Captain Athtar contemplated it. Anyone could fake a birthmark if they had a good tattoo artist.   Yet, Mergo had one more move up his sleeve.   With his vampire ability to charm and his siren nature, Mergo let out a melodic note when he spoke that entranced the Captain to let them ride for free to the Triol Islands. No other crew members have a clue as to why Captain Athtar let them stay, not even the Captain remembers them being aboard his ship.
