Irians

Irians are a biped species that live on the Irian Coast. They have the head of an anteater, with a shorter and broader trunk, and a wider face with a chin. The chin of an Irian contains one singular spike, that can reach the top of the bottom lip of the mouth of the Irian. Many Irians decorate this spike with engravings and bracelets around it. Generally, the larger and curvier the spike, the more respected and attractive the individual is. The Irians have very sharp and tall teeth, with the bottom row of teeth overlapping the top teeth. The Irians have ears that stretch down to their necks, as they droop with excess skin. Many decorations also adorn the ears of the Irians. They live in a small, communal village, that stretches from the western mountains to the coast to the east. The Irians worship the mermen and mermaids as their gods. The Irians make several offerings a year to the mer, giving them valuable food from land, which the mer greatly enjoy. The mer have several times manipulated the Irians into doing their bidding, and sending them to attack potential threats living in Airgona, Irians, despite their shorter stature, are incredibly strong.

History

Creation

As the Mer settled into their new home of Pelagius after the flood of Middle Airgona in 4300 1E, the Mer realized they had no authority on land, and threats like Storm Callers, goblins, and pirates often would hunt for Mer.   With the help of Meredian, the Mer were able to take anteaters that lived on the coast west of Pelagius and give them intelligence, only for their own advantage. They convinced the Irians that free will does not exist, and that they are their gods. Whenever the talks of freedom go around the communals of the Irians, the Mern turn the Irians on their own kin talking of independence.

War with the Storm callers   In 7540 3E, the Kingdoms of the Deep would rally together and try to overthrow Pelagius in order to rule the sea. The Mern went to war and clogged every hole on the bottom of Pelagius to keep the deep from breaching, but it proved futile, as the Kingdoms of the Deep had united in massive number and had planned for the invasion for years. The king of the Mern even attempted to battle the horde himself, but he was mortally wounded and the Trident of Kings was broken. The trident would eventually be repaired, but its power doorment. The Mern then ordered the Irians to thrust themselves against the trident in order for their presences to fill the trident back to its full power. The Trident of Kings was able to be restored and wielded to close the main breach of the Kingdoms of the Deep and stop their invasion, but the memory of thousands of Irians being slaughtered by the Trident of Kings would always stay with the Irians, and made the symbol of a trident become cursed within their culture.    Discovery of the Halls of Camre (Toi tried to save the Irians from Mern before being killed by them)   Escape to Tundle City
