Hitching a Ride

Saliyah Tuirseach introduced herself to the party and after a brief chat agreed to meet them at her ship, The Selkie’s Fury, when they had gathered up their belongings and animals. Xeneva and Zune agreed to go and prepare everything while the rest finished up their drinks. As Saliyah left, the ruffians from earlier, 4 men and 2 women, got up and began to try and follow her.
Duno, seeing what was most likely nefarious activity, got up just as the fourth person passed, knocking into her. The crafty dwarf was able to lift some kind of small vial of powder, but had not time to examine it. The ne'er-do-wells clearly were not wasting time and left, heading out the door in the same direction as the somewhat inebriated Saliyah.
The group trailed the shady patrons and they did their best to gain on them before they could catch up to the captain. The bandits, for that was their intention, quickly surrounded Saliyah and she drew her sword as they tried to steal the coin pouch off her belt. The party also joined in the fray. The group were able to send two into the Grand Canal, while others fled. One poor soul was not as fortunate: Wolfface split the man nearly in twain using an Earthen Spike spell. The City Guard approached shortly thereafter and took a report. Saliyah, to her credit, was appreciative of the assistance. She led them to where The Selkie's Fury was docked and then told the group to fetch their belongings so that they could set up quarters on the ship while their animals could have one more night on land in the stalls near the docks.
Evening arrived and the group loaded their belongings onto the ship. Saliyah introduced them to some of the crew including Bjorn an Hindar, her first mate. The party used the time to chat with the different crew members. Dinner was shared by all on the deck of the ship. Upon inquiry from some of the crew, the party confided what their mission from Jan Natalis was for. The crew, being mostly Skelligers, were all very supportive of any kind of action that was going to be taken against the Nilfgaardian Empire. Saliyah went as far as to offer her own personal assistance in the event there was a need. The party eventually bedded down for the night.
