Every year the
Sgnomes of the Winter valley conduct ther winter sports event. It is a two day event where the Sgnomes compete against eachother in a series of winter sports and activities. It is one of the most looked forward to events of the year for the more competetive Sgnomes as this is a chance to show off their skills and gain some measure of fame amongst their fellows.
Sporting events
The first day is set aside for the main sporting events, it is here that the Sgnomes will compete in everything from skiing to snowboarding, lugeing and tobaganning. Anyone can compete and the field is whittled down over the course of the day untill the grand finales are held at the end of the day. There are also junior events for the younger Sgnomes and these can be just as competetive as the adult events.
The feasts
At the end of each day a grand feast is held. On the first day it is held outdoors and on the second it is held in the great glacier cave. There will be food and drink aplenty, as well as music and dancing. There will also be the awards for the winners of the days events, and they will given places of honmour at the head table for the night.
The snow ball fight
The second day is ended with the annual grand snow ball fight. This may sound like fun, but it is one of the seriously taken events of the entire two days. Teams train all year in tactics, and crafting the perfect throwing snowball, capable of destroying your enemies fortifications. If real weapons were being used it would be utter carnage. as it is many a Sgnome is nursing bruises the next day and there are even usually a few broken bones as well. There is no childrens event for this, though small fights usually break out amongst the children anyway.
