Dryad Healing Pods

Utility

An injured Dryad lies on the leaf bed, the leaves then wrap around them and form a cocoon. Once inside the Dryad falls into a peaceful slumber. During this time it's wounds are healed, as the tree feeds sap and nutrients to the Dryad. The length of time required to stay in the cocoon depends mostly upon the severity of the injury, though there are a number of other factors that can play a part: health of tree, maturity of tree, time of year.   It can't grow back limbs, but it can ensure the stump is suitable for splicing/grafting. for regrowth by the Dryad themselves. Can fight infection, sap is known to be good for that. Can combat most natural poisons, found in their environment. Poisons from outside, or alchemical concoctions can actually be detrimental to the tree and end up poisoning the tree too. The same is true for diseases, there is a very great risk that the tree will contract the disease too.

Manufacturing

They are grown by the tree. Each one looks a little different, the colour, shape and size of the leaves can vary, though they all form a cocoon shape once in use. The space in which the coccoon is grown, all vary greatly depending on the Dryad's tastes and their tree's interpretation of their desires.
Access & Availability
Any Dryad Tree can grow a leaf cocoon. However, the tree usually has to be of a certain maturity before it can do this. Each cocoon can only be used by the Dryad bonded to that tree, though there have been some rare exceptions. The Dryads guard the secret of these healing cocoons quite closely, as they have learned that some folk would want to take advantage of them.
Complexity
In appearance they are very simple consisting of a bed of large leaves. The process that goes on inside the cocoon during healing, however is a precise blending of magic and nature. Only the tree knows how this process works.
