Power Crystals

Power crystals are a fearsome way to store and release nearly limitless amounts of power. They are obscure and rare due to their affiliation with the Dawn Council. They are vestiges, meaning they require huge amounts of power to awaken their true potential.

Lust

Lust's power comes in many forms, each characterized by an overwhelming desire to do something. This includes gaining power, sexual acts, accumulating wealth

Gluttony

Literally, over-consumption to the point of waste.

Greed

Similar to gluttony, but distinct in its matter of charging. Precious metals of all kinds are representative of greed, and charge the crystal.

Sloth

The crystal of Sloth is curious, in that its method of charging is not immediately obvious. It feeds off of disinterest and laziness. This typically occurs in festivals and parties, where there are no intentions to accomplish any tasks of worth.

Wrath

Simple and straightforward. Causing death makes it charge. Is locked within a codex to prevent its aura from affecting others. In the possession of The Aereni, though they do not know it.

Envy

The desire to have the traits and abilities of another. Charges from large-scale events such as class conflict, or as simple as unmentioned jealousy.

Pride

Putting the desires of oneself before the needs of other. Particularly strong when combined with rulers of any government system. The last hints of its existence may be find on the island of Yunen.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Each crystal is charged through various means (e.g. absorbing the faith of the pious, sapping the life of the ill, culling the local wildlife). Discharging the crystal results in a powerful spell equivalent to the sacrifice. This is the only way to create a spell powerful enough to destroy the portals.

Significance

Power crystals are the weapons and tools of the Roses. They are used to destroy the cardinal elemental portals.
