Cardinal Elemental Portals

The 4 cardinal elemental portals were created at the completion of the Dawn War to separate the Material Plane from the others. Each of the elemental kingdoms is responsible for protecting one of the portals.

Water

Under the protection of The Ooskan on the island of Mizulo 

Earth

Fire

Found in the capital Said, this portal is buried under the mountains of its Polis. Surrounding it is a dark metal dais.

Air

Under the protection of the monks of Deitner Abbey on The Deitner Archipelago.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Each portal is created by a team of gods, and is responsible for one layer of protection for any portal from the outer to the inner planes. The fewer barriers between portals, the easier it becomes for lesser creatures to slip through. If all 4 portal are destroyed come a planetary alignment, the barrier will break and allow even the gods to pass through portals.

Significance

They operate as normal portals to the elemental planes, but their combined existence separates the inner and outer planes.
