Choirboys Species in When the Curtain has fallen | World Anvil

Choirboys

Also known as drunkards or hooligans, these spirits are one of the kinds of the spirits of wrath.
Wherever they show up, their singing can be heard.
Every time they sing about different things, mainly some strong opinions.
When someone hears they singing, they will start to join their song by either agreeing with them or insulting the ideas they are singing about.
The newly joined singer will then join them in their wandering and will start to vandalize everything in their path.
If they meet another singer with opposite ideas to those already singing, the two groups will become so filled with wrath, they will start to fight to the death.
Additionally, the singers cannot stop their singing, and if they are human, they can die of exhaustion if they continue for too long.
The best way to stop the influence of the choirboys is to wear headphones or earplugs during the nights or seasons they roam.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Choirboys consist of four or more shining humanoids with distorted faces.
They usually create formations that change depending on how they feel, and if they see any prey.

Genetics and Reproduction

As spirits, choirboys do not reproduce, however, the number of humanoids that create one entity can change.
They are still considered one entity.

Growth Rate & Stages

When fed up, the number of choirboys increases.
That makes their singing louder and harder to resist.
When they are really hungry, their number drops to four.

Ecology and Habitats

Choirboys like to periodically roam the streets at night.
There are some months when one could encounter them every single night.
It has been discovered, that those months correspond to the sports events that were held before the Extinction.
