Two days ago a messenger rode into Ubersreik and rushed to the castle of Black Rock, seat of Graf von Jungfreud the lord of the province of Black Rock. Shortly afterwards you were summoned to the castle and handed a note sealed by the Graf himself and addressed to his son Lord Matthias von Jungfreud at Hugeldal. The steward informed you that the Graf requires you to deliver the note in person to his son at the Manor House in Hugeldal, and to carry out his instructions. On asking the steward what this was all about you were told that the miners of Hulgeldal were refusing to work, and that consequently all production of iron and copper ore at Hugeldal had ceased and the smelters were rapidly running out of stock. Vital income was being lost and Lord Matthias had requested assistance to quell the unrest and get the miners back to work. The steward also confided in you that the Graf was convinced that the unrest was being incited by those pirates the Margrave Brothers whom the Emperor had foolishly allowed to govern the town of Auerswald. The Graf was convinced that this was part of a plot to ruin the Graf financially and discredit Black Rock as a source of weapons for the Imperial Army. Naturally you asked the steward about the reward on offer for this assignment, as you are not a citisen of Black Rock and have no obligation to follow the orders of the Graf. The steward grunted and threw you a purse containing 40/- informng you that Lord Matthias would negotiate the fee for quelling the unrest when you delivered the note.Education
