Weaponry

The Keregh Bor carried underneath his left thigh an koncerz estoc (up to 5ft in length) and, often, a curved dagger under his right thigh. A scimitar was carried on the left side, and several types of sabres were known to Keregh Bor. Keregh Bor sometimes carried additional weapons, such as war hammers and battleaxes. The Keregh Bor carried more often then not a bow in a saddle holster.

The lances of the the Keregh Bor usually ranged from 4.5 to 6.2 metres (15 to 20 ft) in length and were provided by the Emperor or the banner's owner, not by the regular soldiers. A large 'silk' pennon was attached to the lance below the point. Another type of lance, known as the demi-lance, was used and could have been 3 to 3.6 metres (9.8 to 11.8 ft) long and was used against the Horsemen of Danpieu in the 1st Danpieu-Prabaiian War.

Tactics

The Keregh Bor' primary battle tactic was the charge. They carried the charge to, and through the enemy. The charge started at a slow pace and in a relatively loose formation. The formation gradually gathered pace and closed ranks while approaching the enemy, and reached its highest pace and closest formation immediately before engagement. They tended to repeat the charge several times until the enemy formation broke (they had supply wagons with spare lances). The light saddle allowed for more armour to be used by both the horses and the warriors. Moreover, the horses were bred to run very fast with a heavy load and to recover quickly. This was achieved by breeding old Prabaiian horses with Northern horses from Danpieu. As a result, these horses could walk hundreds of kilometres, loaded with over 100 kilograms and still be able to charge in an instant. Also, Keregh Bor horses were very quick and manoeuvrable. This allowed them to fight with any cavalry or infantry force. They were widely regarded as the most powerful cavalry in the world.
