Gnomes

Gnomes, called the "Juja" in the Gotkolhian language, are a race of small sapient humanoids with a long average lifespan that find their origin on the isolated island of Gnorteer, hundreds of miles north of West-Argo. They migrated to the island of Gotkolh starting from the 17th century AoC, gradually replacing the local human population.

The gnomes are famed as highly intelligent and resourceful creatures, having industrialised supprisingly quickly near the end of the 2nd Age of Man, centuries before the rest of the world. Yet thanks to the Kingdom of Gotkolh's migration- and traveling policies, the gnomes would, with exceptions of those who settled the Vexan coasts, a rare sight outside of their island nations for most of history.

Due to the closing of the border ever since the start of the Gotkolhian Industrial Age, the gnomes of Gotkolh and the non-Gotkolhian gnomes grew apart both culturally and ethnically. The Gotkolhian gnomes, known as the Mtilebi, are primarily city dwellers that value academic progress above most things. The many gnomish communities outside of Gotkolh, called the Utshkoelebi, life on a varied grade of integration with their nation of adoption. Lastly, there are the Gnomes who never moved to West-Argo, called the Northlanders, or Chrdiloetelebi, by the Gotkolhians.
