Elara Windriven
Elara Windriven is a mature Human woman and longtime resident of Waterdeep. She is known to members of Trollskull Alley as a gentle soul who has recently endured unbearable loss. Her son, Darian Windriven, was a captain in the City Watch who was killed in the line of duty. Though the investigation into his death concluded, the Watch later informed Elara that her son’s body could not be located, preventing her from holding a proper funeral or finding closure.
Her quiet grief eventually turned to desperation. Unable to get answers through official channels, she turned to Gwylla, a local cleric, hoping that divine intervention might help her locate Darian's remains. Though beyond Gwylla’s abilities at the time, the request brought Elara into passing contact with the party.
The party would later encounter Darian again—reanimated, corrupted, and unrecognizable—which only deepened the mystery surrounding his fate. As far as Elara knows, her son is still missing, and she waits quietly, clinging to hope and the kindness of strangers.
