Yetarra

Yetarra was one of the first human settlements on Nova Prime. The colony site was chosen both for its rich mineral and oil resources, as well as its proximity to a river, one of the few above-ground water sources remaining on the planet's barren surface. Thanks to the river, Yetarra is able to grow much of its own food (albeit in greenhouses, because of the drastic daily swings in temperature). It also supplies water to several nearby mining outposts that have poorer resources. 
Along with the human inhabitants, Yetarra is home to a significant population of Noxx refugees. Although few humans are willing to help or employ them, the Noxx are considerably better off here than in other Nova Prime cities, simply because of the ready access to water. This has turned Yetarra into a hub of activity for Noxx smugglers, who risk their lives crossing hundreds of miles of desert to bring stolen water and food to their fellow Noxx in other settlements.
