Maxopra Delta
Maxopra Delta is swamp planet that lies on the outskirts of pirate territory. It is an uninhabited planet for the most part with the exception of one trader outpost. It is the fourth planet in its solar system and the functions as a marker for the pirate territory. Those passing beyond M. Delta are within the owned space of the gang and subject to their rules. Past this point, the intergalactic corps have no power.
The trading outpost functions as a stopping off point for those desiring to trade with the criminals within the territory but hesitant to travel further into the space. These traders will sell their wares to the resident merchants in the settlement who will then travel deeper into the territory with their new cargo to sell for an even higher price. The outpost is highly armed as it is the nearest target for those entering pirate space with violent intent such as the intergalactic corps or A237 invasions. The small town is used to fighting back threats and as such the residents here are battle hardened and rough. Pirates itching for a fight need only spend a few weeks on M. Delta before a fight finds them.
A recent invasion of A237 has left half the town terraformed into an urban city sprawl. Despite the A237 being pushed back off the planet, the resident pirates have made no efforts to dismantle the new structures and have merely barricaded the area, locking in any remaining A237.
Geography
The entire planet is covered in thick swamp. Some areas have higher tree coverage than others and some are planes of open marsh.
The waters in the swamps have a thin film covering the surface as a result of natural oils released by decaying vegetation. This film has creates a rainbow sheen on the water surface.
Many outsiders that hear of the rainbow waters assume M. Delta to be a beautiful planet. They are incredibly disappointed when they see the swampy reality.
The one settlement has made use of the swamps and set up across several bayous. The houses are constructed of the natural resources with the floor level huts resembling igloos made entirely from leaves, branches and mud. The home made in the trees are like nests, again constructed from leaves and branches. The common distribution in building style is that the tree nests function as homes and the ground buildings are commercial, like bars and trading posts.
