The Black Glade

If the Mistveil is infamous, then the Black Glade is downright infernal. Terrifying stories are told to entertain the children, but none know what truly lies in its stygian depths. The capital crimes of the Utlaegr are punishable by execution, but the truly vile are not merely slain. They are chained and taken to the edge of the cursed forest, where black trees let pass not a single animal sound from within its depths. Those prisoners are then chained to a tree just inside the forest, where they are left as an offering to whatever monstrosity lies waiting. None have ever escaped this fate.
