Lord of the Deeps

Mathlann, Lord of the Deeps, known as the King of Storm and Sea, is a God in the Elven pantheon.

Mathlann is the ruler of the ocean and all those creatures who dwell under the waves. He has little love for those living on dry land, including the Elves. He is largely seen as a fickle and destructive deity and as a result, he is distrusted and shunned by the majority of Elves.

The god is usually depicted wearing a crown of seashells and fish scale armour.

Tenets of Faith

• Allow the sea to have its due, for those who anger Mathlann must know his wrath.
• Bathe in salt water. Scrub the body clean with kelp and beach sand.
• Never take Mathlann’s grace lightly. Always heed his shrines with prayer and sacrifice.
• Pray towards the direction of the wind but speak away from it.
• Respect the creatures of the sea. Give prayer and sacrifice to Mathlann for his generous bounty.
