Sabilina Baudelaire is the Princess of the Principality of Chelrath and the Baroness of Vinnau. She is a beautiful, strange, hermetic, and antisocial woman who rules her principality as a cruel and paranoid tyrant.

Due to her undead nature, Sabilina has maintained her captivating good looks for the last 300 years. She usually wears her long, toffee brown hair pinned up, her dark eyes with odd red flecks, peer from beneath her meticulously groomed brows.

She favors fine and ornate clothing, usually impeccably tailored and well kept, even if behind in the latest fashion trends. Although, lately she has paid less attention to her grooming, looking more and more disheveled with each rare public appearance.

Personal history

Despite the fact that the public opinion regarding "monsters" and undead such as vampires has improved much of late, Sabilina keeps her vampirism a secret. Gvien the curse in 1227 CY, she has ruled Chelrath for nearly 300 years. The aura of mystery hangs so think around Sabilina, however, that most people just believe she has lengthened her life span with spells or potions. Some actually believe the original Sabilina died long ago, and that her descendants use her name and reputation-- a fallacy that the vampire encouraged for a while.
Since vampires have become "fashionable" for the moment in the Enclave, most people simply see Sabilina as a trendsetter than an actual undead. In the Enclave, a wizard who likes to wear dark clothing, comes out only at night, and maintains a pale complexion seems not out of the ordinary in any way. A number of the princess' peers, such as Adelhelm Drachmann and [giant banana], know or suspect her true nature, but simply don't care. They certainly are not without secrets of their own, and in any case, revealing Sabilina's true nature would change little in the way the public perceives her.
When the princess began her campaign to control her nobles through the ties of vampirism, she developed a code stating that vampires under his control could not spread the curse themselves, nor could they kill when they fed. This way, Sabilina could control them more easily without drawing undue attention towards Chelrath. This vampiric law seems less solid than the princess thought. In the last few years, vampires have began to appear throughout the Enclave; the curse obviously has been spreading from the northern principality southward. Although all the nobles under her deny it, Sabilina can only assume that the vampire responsible is one of her own.

Unlike a lot of the other princes of the Enclave, Sabilina outright despises the pious and divine magic, rightly viewing clerics as not only a threat to the superiority of arcane magic, but as a very personal threat to her vampiric nature. She was adamant in her resistance on the vote to allow clerics into the Zhathair Isles and outright denies any and all priestly licenses in the principality of Chelrath.

For most of her unlife, Sabilina has been the calm, calculatingly evil mistress one might expect as a vampire princess, displaying her chaotic nature only when the hunger came upon him. Of late, however conditions in Chelrath have seemingly spiraled out of her control, and power over her own temperament likewise is slipping from her grasp. Rumors circulate throughout the Enclave that Sabilina is losing her mind. As a ruler, she remains cold, uncaring, and cruel. Not only does she hold no concern for the plight of her people, she has come to relish in their suffering.
