vssCollab Challenge Media Kit

vssCollab TL;DR

What is it?

vssCollab is a new VSS (very short Twitter length story snippet) challenge where we're upping the game! We'll be collaborating by combining vss prompts and sharing each other's work. Each writer will declare the story universe/World Anvil world they'll be writing in. vssCollab is about lifting each other up and helping to bring attention to your work and your World Anvil worlds. You can be an aspiring or already published author, worldbuilder, TTRPG developer, or a combination of the above. We welcome writers!
Like other VSS challenges, we'll have daily prompts. What makes this challenge different? We'll use two daily prompts (the #vss365 prompts and our own weekly list) that you work into your story snippets. When possible, you'll string those story snippets into Twitter threads for longer stories. We'll also retweet on the vssCollab twitter to track who posted. Then we can retweet each other's work.
The big bonuses will be that we created a free zine of the best stories and let authors read their work aloud on a special Twitch stream on February 4th.

Where will it happen?

Twitter (for the VSSes), World Anvil (for the zine and participant information), Twitch (for the reading of the stories)

When does the challenge run?

Monthly, starting on the 1st of the month. Please join by 10th of the month to get the most benefit.

What inspired the challenge?

Amy decided to run this challenge after a group World Anvil author friends started a poll based challenge. Twitter only allows four options in a poll. Amy wanted more people to be able to participate and have impactful ways to help share each other's work.

About the challenge behind the zine

Each day, the authors included 2 pre-defined prompts into their VSSes. Making a thread or group of these into a cohesive story is quite the challenge and we can’t wait for you to read our work!

About the zine

Many people helped Amy as she published her first book, Rise. The zine turned into a passion project where she can give back and help other authors overcome the fear of submitting for publication. Also, she hopes to assist new authors gain a little street credibility through this online zine.

’In Threads’ a great way for readers to sample work from talented authors across World Anvil and Twitter.
