Lore Crystals

Article Contents

Whenever Aether is created by certain beings, there can sometimes be, shall we say, intent, that flows into it, which creates different types of aether and Aethercite crystals. Aether created by the god Beirunes is usually aligned with Fire, whether that is searing heat, explosions, or intense flames. The same is true for the Dragon Lord of Fire Xiralgus.

That brings us to a special type of Aethercite known as Lore Crystals, which always have a specific affinity for specific types of magic. A Xiral Lore Crystal will give one the ability to cast absurdly powerful fire magic, at least until the crystal runs out of aether which is enough for a spell or two.

Lore Crystals also still have the original intent of the beings that created them, which means if you use them as a Memory Crystal you can take a peak inside the minds of these ancient beings and gleam some of their knowledge. I should caution against doing this however, as weaker willed individuals might get their own minds temporarily overwritten by these ancient beings, and this temporary madness almost never ends well.

These lore crystals are also in pretty far flung parts and rather dangerous parts of the world, usually in the bottom of Dragon Craters or somewhere near these corrupted locations. Finding lore crystals from a god are significantly more difficult, some say they don't exist.

I say these people aren't looking hard enough. for examples, Nivema's Crystals can be easily found in the frozen Aelurus Islands and along the Califons Hills on the mainland, and Vikuon's Crystals can be found in great number along the Thunder Coast.

What do Lore Crystals look like? Well, despite the name, very few of them are actually crystals, that's for sure. Might be part of the reason so many people can't find them!
