PW1 - Frogman Calls for Aid

General Summary

You heard from Zaluoh that his land is being invaded and he asked for your help. You travelled to Orstail, where you met Bloodletter, who is also fighting against the invasion.

War Update

• The terminally unstable kingdom of Cirithas is having significant difficulties in the early stages of the Phoenix War. 
• High King Lalfelwen Uiretarion refused to send military aid to Locë, so it was captured by the city-state Ramanthas. 
• When the local lords marshalled their own forces, their siege was broken by the army of Athrada. 
• Simultaniously, Rohiz & Jesham are invading Senlimas, including the swamp where Zaluoh's people live.

Gathering the Team

• Zaluoh sent the following to Sandy and Glirroth, who relayed it to Tana: "Need help. Home invaded by soldiers and fiends. Go to Orstail. You’re there to visit Salji. The soldiers will truth spell you.”
• The party reunited in Orstail's teleportation circle, where you were confronted by two soldiers.
• You mentioned Salji, who the wizard's apprentice explained was a renowned weaponsmith. She took significant care to use the past tense and badly attempted to slur her speech to disguise this. The soldiers didn't seem to notice.
• Before you left, the apprentice slipped Tana a piece of wood with the word "search" on it.
• Under guard of the Elf soldier, the party looked around the town, finding the hydra hunters' home demolished. You eventually found an apparent match to the piece of wood in a general store's door.

Leaving Orstail

• After hearing the name Salji, the shopkeeper attempted to restrain the soldier and a fight ensued. Gwynestri, a High Elf Wizard who happened to be browsing, joined in the fight.
• After subduing the soldier, you all left through a secret tunnel in the back of the shop. You emerged in an outhouse on the other side of the town's stockade wall.
• Bloodletter, one of the hydra hunters many of you have met previously, took out two soldiers who were about to alert the town to your activities.
• Bloodletter explained that the Elf-dominated city government occupied northern Ramanthas, which is traditional Gnome land, at the start of the war. He and his hunters tried to resist but were driven off into the woods. Since then, they have been fighting against the invasion of Senlimas alongside Zaluoh.
