Grandmaster
"There is one thing leaders all have income. Power. You cannot grab the helm without the ability to steer the ship. May it be in quantity. Loyal soldiers, charges, or vassals; people to extend your power and reach. It could be quality. Magic strong enough to strike fear in the largest giant. A blade sharp enough to split a dragon in two. A power strong enough to provide the authority you need. The guild master has historically been the latter. Strong, imposing, the best of the best. They've been mages, swordmasters, acolytes. Fiendish, celestial, human, long-lived. It didn't matter if they were the best. In the past even a Hoasli Tiefling rose to the position. However, recently, there have been a line of guild masters forfeiting this consistency. One didn't need power with connections. Ever since the erecting of the Eight Hands, it hasn't been the same. The guild master is shrouded in mystery, appearing at political events, always surrounded by guards. They've been weak, without face, silent. As if scared to touch the sun because it may burn instead of embrace them.
The title of Adventurer's Guild Master means only that who heads the very organization. They command the Eight Hands, govern the four quarters, and converse with the kingdom leads and emperor in case of emergency.
The current Master is Taelo Feisuteikā
Qualifications
To become the guild master you once needed to be strong, the Emperors in the past have used the method of picking the strongest adventurer and educating them to become the next master, eventually putting them under the authority of the current master to learn how to actually run the organization. However, the new Emperor and methods have changed what it means to be the master, and what it takes.
Appointment
When a new guildmaster takes a stand, they make a speech in the Master's Hall to all government offcials and the strongest adventurers. The speech is relayed by guild heads across the empire to their respective guild halls.
Duties
Their main focus is to provide their service uncontested. Why hire a merc, bandits, mages, when the guild has similar profiles in bigger quantities. It is imperative they keep this idea in people's heads, or the master has failed.
Responsibilities
Responding to city or quarter level threats, and organzing large quanitites of adventurers for military use.
