Magic Eye Spell in Voltera | World Anvil

Magic Eye

Similar to the more common "Magic Mouth Spell" it is cast on an inanimate stationary object or location such as a wall, fence, door, rock etc. Anything passing within 30' x level of the mage triggers an magical eye to appear allowing the caster to see thru the eye all that is visible within range of the eye depending on conditions. It cannot see through thick smoke or fog and darkness vision is equivalent to that of the caster. The eye remains active for 1 hour x the wizards level once triggered. It is dispelled once its duration expires. If Multiple Magic Eyes are cast and triggered the Caster can have a maximum active equal to their Level Plus their Spell casting bonus. This Magic eye spell immediately alerts the caster when it its activated or triggered.

Effect

It Creates a magical eyeball to appear on the desired location and allows the caster to see as if they where at the location of the Magic Eye.

Side/Secondary Effects

The eye has no extra ordinary visions and can be impaired by Smoke, Fog and Darkness it does take on the vision abilities of the caster so if the caster has 60' darkvision or some special ability they have that vision through the magic eye. Abysmal failure in casting this spell blurs a casters vision for 1d6 turns -3 to attacks and vision checks.

Manifestation

A visible human sized eye on the target object the eye blends well into the target when closed but is noticeable when it is open and being viewed through. Passive perception vs Spell casters Spell DC to spot/detect or Active Investigation Vs Spell DC to detect if actively searching.
