Lawesee (LAH-weh-say)
Lawesee is a city of warriors and rugged adventurers founded by the renowned Drakscar Steeleye. The legendary warrior sought a rugged place for training, and no place is less hospitable than Northern Lawesee
While officially a city-state, Lawesee actually claims a fair amount of the territory North of the city proper as training grounds for its people. These areas are North of the Northern Iceline, and as such, are as cold and colder than the top of any of Volara's great mountain peaks. This has proved to be a boon to the quality of the warriors who come from this Northern city, and they are sought out as mercenaries, bodyguards, and soldiers across Volara.
Climate:
The Southern parts of Lawesee are moderately cool, with temperatures usually between 8 and 15 degrees. This area is relatively dry, often going for months without rain. The Northern part of Lawesee is the coldest inhabited part of Volara, with temperatures growing colder the further North one goes.
Geography:
The country is mainly centered on a plateau, around the capitol city and Lake Lawesee. as such, it is almost all flat and open. Only the hardiest of plants will grow in this region, and most produce was imported from Marken prior to its capture by Burn's force. Since then, Lawesee has relied on food from Salinar and abroad to feed its population.
