Gothiland

[GŌ-thē-land]   Gothiland covers most of the northeast region of the Main Continent from the western edge of Dalland to the eastern coast, bordered on the south by Portland. Most of Gothiland is a wide open plain called Ickown [ICK-ōn], home to the roaming herds of bison that have long populated this land and been a major source of food and hide for the Nomad people. It was founded by a Council of Hyggoth and Nomad elders along with some defecting Mørkgoths. Each clan that dwells in this country elects an elder to serve on the Council for life. The country is populated mostly by Hyggoths and Nomads, though some Mørkgoths and Strangers live here too. Notably, BEST TOWN has the largest population of Orcs anywhere on Voktegård.

Locations

Capital: Hovedstad

Other places of interest: Junction Town, BEST TOWN, Gnō (abandoned), Citadel of the Seal, and Traff.

Laws

Gothiland holds to the Four Accords. In addition, all humanoid corpses are burned and any livestock are butchered immediately, punishable by a period of community service or indentured servitude. If a failure to burn results in anyone's death by undead, the ones responsible may be tried for violating the First Accord. Cutting or harming a birch tree is considered a violation of the First Accord in Gothiland (unless done by a druid for sacred harvesting).

The creation of basements, cellars, bunkers, or any digging beyond 4 feet is punishable in a similar manner.

Any experiments involving interplanar travel are illegal here and there is a dedicated branch of the Citadel's Horizon Walker Conclave in Traff that works to magically surveil for any such violations (and execute the culprit's prompt arrest).

Economy

In Gothiland, gold coins are still the standard and PHB prices are normal. Land and businesses can be owned by citizens. Trade is regulated by the Council Trade Delegation, a corps of mostly Inquisitive Rogues and Divination Wizards who ensure that no one is unfairly treated in matters of trade.
