Gnō

This was once the city founded by the alchemically-born children of Gemꜳd Chymer, the mad dwarven alchemist of Fourth Age fame. These "Chymerical Dwarves" as they are sometimes still called displayed an incredible innate talent for alchemy and artifice. Gnō is now infamous for the Portal Tragedy of 5th Age, Year 79: A team of well-meaning artificers lead by Dejnumas, expanding on concepts found in recovered journals of their father created a shadow-fueled techomagical portal that ripped a whole in the fabric of reality. A torrent of magical energy surged through, killing half the population of the city and leaving in it's wake hundreds of displaced Strangers with no clue how they came to this world. With the portal apparatus destroyed, its inventors dead, and the portal itself still flickering with eldritch power, everyone fled and the city was abandoned overnight. Roughly 120 years later, nothing has changed. The potentially still-active portal apparently is a one-way gate to Oerth, and is of great interest to the Citadel of the Seal.
