Children of Eindride

Not all Children of Eindride are his literal children. Some are grand- or great-grandchildren. Eindride never settled down and never married. He has a long reputation of bedding the brave and beautiful of Voktegård, such that unexpected pregnancies are sometimes blamed on a secret nocturnal visitation of Eindride. Upon birth, however, the divine lineage of the child is either apparent or not so this excuse can only last so long if it is a lie.

Eindride's progeny are many and his choice of bedmates is prolific. One notable Eindride apologist has written in his theological works that Eindride's true purpose in doing so is to grow an army to defend Voktegård from the Celestials. A popular myth involves him being questioned about this by a bard after saving a city from Celestial attack. The Hero replied, "Yes...that. That was definitely my intention. Would you like to help with that noble purpose right now?" The bard, Tomas of Dalland, expressed some confusion about how he could possibly help as he was unable to bear a child. Eindride famously countered, "Well...we can still try." And so they did.
