Geography

The Larkenzi Cluster contains around ~2000 stars, depending on how you count it. It includes black holes, pulsars, and other weird things.

Fauna & Flora

Ever heard of Drake's equation? Stars are everywhere, but only some form planets. Only a few of those planets could be habitable. Only a few of those habitable worlds actually evolve life. And even fewer of those worlds evolve habitable life thats intelligent, sapient life. And even fewer does that life actually become capable of interstellar communication or travel.
Somewhere, somehow, that equation got messed up, because the Larkezni Cluster has a massive amount of intelligent life compared to the rest of the galaxy. It's a strange little pocket of life.
