HS-Zmejadi

High Shra Zmejadi
At least, no one in Shpazh.
He’d known when he’d been sent that it was the start of something more, but now he had the letter declaring it. Seeing it in the sharp script, in ink on paper, somehow made it more.
“High Shra Zmejadi. They made up an entire title for you,” Sulathier remarked as he stood across from Vesyingalor’s desk. He’d delivered the letter after reading it, though it had only Vesyingalor’s name on it. No one was about to tell the Secretary otherwise, not when he was Connected to Vesyingalor. His Bya did not sound impressed.
”My own command,” Vesyin added before he finally set the paper on his barren desk. He didn’t do paperwork – that was for his Secretary. The entire office had been a gesture, a reflection of his status in the family. High windows, polished dark wood, and a leather chair he could lean in. Now it meant so much more.
”I had hoped it would just be the one,” Sulathier said, staring down at the letter as though it had offended him personally. His sharp features made all the more angular in his irritation.
Vesyin leaned back in his chair and kicked his feet up. Needing the moment to think about the implications of the letter. What it would mean for the coming conflict. It took him only a moment before he said, “The Shpou mean to make an example of Ryneior.” Perhaps the ultimate example.
That drew Sulathier’s attention, his dark eyes flicking up to Vesyin. The conflict of his thoughts did not show on his hard expression – though he did still appear annoyed. < This does not bother you? You will be known as a monster… >
Was Sulathier concerned about what the world might think about Vesyin? It was sweet but unnecessary. A thought he attached to his response while he half smiled. < Why would it bother me? My family died on that train. Ryneior should be afraid of me. >
HS-Zmejadi
There has been three Zmejadi since the creation and eventual decommission. The first was Shpou’Shra-Zmutwe Vesyingalor, whose name is still known by the main bloodline of the Shpazh. His ruthlessness and dedication to the family name has been a legend passed through the generations and served as the benchmark for the Zmejadi that would follow in his steps.
The HS-Zmejadi bore unprecedented authority and used their high Shra in an abusive fashion in pursuit of their goals. No mind was safe. While many Shpazh would look at their actions with awe and some degree of fearful reverence, the rest of the world would be terrified and appalled. Where the HS-Zmejadi were dispatched, entire cities were slaughtered. Ryneior and all the vnou in their factory cities were never given an opportunity to surrender or make amends for the accident that caused this aggressive response.
The other noble families began to protest the brutal use of the HS-Zmejadi, but this outrage would die down as the rest of the world fell into the chaos of the Reconstruction. Even during this period of world-wide conflict, the Zmejadi and their Ried continued their pursuit and erasure of the Ryneior peoples. It wouldn’t be until the end of the Reconstruction that the efficiency of their work would come to light. No vnou alive could recall the name of Ryneior when it came time for the nobility to split up the world – not even the other high Shra of the nobility.
