Sakilatian Empire Capitol, Zhu’Shpazh Home City

Seat of Power
Sakila is the Empire of Shpazh – at least as far as documentation and nobility are concerned – and Enheimin is the capitol of that empire. Shpazh gothic architectural influences are seen all over the place and their large castles dominate the horizon in many of the largest cities, set atop hills and mountains. In the case of Enheimin Port, one of the oldest castles in Shpazh’s name sets along the coast. Common vnou think of the city as a touristy place. It’s an old city with clean streets, well maintained buildings, and a sense of age and history not found in many other places in the world. It’s the sort of city people go for the atmosphere and glimpse of the past. Its public claim to fame is being one of the oldest port cities still inhabited and functioning. Certainly one of the safest, albeit expensive, places to vacation for something as simple as the atmosphere.

The reality is that Enheimin Port is considered by much of the nobility as a Shpazh seat of power, if not the main one. The castle of Leriemuir dominates the coastline, set apart but overlooking the port city. This massive structure contains much of the Shpazh’s own family records and history, art and artifacts. It’s an archive of the family’s accomplishments and one of many monuments to their power. It functions like a mini-city in and of itself, cut off from the common vnou entirely. Some Fa will be born, live, and work in the castle without ever having need to step foot outside of the towered walls. Not to say that they don’t have access to outside. Leriemuir Castle’s expansive grounds has several large courtyards and gardens for the family’s use.

Location

Capitol city of the Sakilatian Empire

Founding Date

903

Founders

Documented as Zhu'Shpazh ancestors. Common vnou would not attribute the founding Shpazh with the same reality tv – celebrity family that exists today. Nobility is fully aware it’s Shpazh’s city.

Ruler

Zhu'Shpazh
Common vnou believe it is a Mayor by the name of Yeraissir Kinoimaril and a City Council of 15.

Yeraissir Kinoimaril is part of a Shpazh Fa, as is most of the City Council.

Population

~935,000

Industry & Trade

If asked, any common vnou outside the city would say the city functions on expensive, possibly overpriced tourism and an inflated sense of self. Enheimin does not expressly advertise itself as a tourist destination but it has become a sort of cultural center in regards to glimpsing history and a quieter, clean way of life. The common vnou that live and work in Enheimin are generally above middle class, even for some of the service jobs. Restaurants are high end, the shops are small but of high quality, and nothing seems corporate. There are no advertisements posted anywhere and what technology that has been used enhances the city’s sense of age and beauty, not corrupting or perverting it into something too modern. Enheimin is the gem of Sakila, the one in which many other large cities across the empire mold themselves after though most fail to capture the charm and presence that dominates the old city streets. Make no mistake, the city is old but it wears its age extremely well and is easily one of the cleanest, safest cities in the entire empire. Arguably the world.

Shpazh Control

As one of their main cities, arguably the family’s seat of power, Enheimin is a very controlled environment. The City Council is all manned by various Fa families. The Mayor is elected from a choice of Fa. Much of the trade and commerce is managed by Fa. Much of the nobility jokingly say it’s a city of Shpazh, where even the common vnou could trace their lineage back to some distant cousin’s dalliance or discarded child. Not that they’d say that out loud in front of anyone from the Shpazh line.

The city does have a sense of loyalty to the Shpazh name that outside common vnou won’t understand. Most chalk it up to the historical significance the family name had in establishing the city, many residents will say they trace their roots back to vnou who settled it, who lived and served under the Shpazh name. Of which they’ve only benefited from. There’s also the added benefit of the city being rich, both in quality of its products but in terms of its residents. There are no homeless, there are no hungry, and there is no crime. None. The residents of Enheimin believe that comes from their well-bred history and many will thank the ancestors of the present day Shpazh for that.

Enheimin is so preeeetty. Once again the way you have a whole world hidden underneath the common vnou world is so cool. You're building two things at once and it's great.

This entire summer camp sorta made me realize just how insidious that whole 'secret nobility' thing really is.

What would an ocean be without a monster lurking in the dark?
