The World Tree
At the center of the Kingdom of Sunsight is a massive tree. This tree stands so tall that low riding clouds will brush against its highest branches. The World Tree is said to be the life force of Vitcoona given form. It is believed to be responsible for generating the mana necessary to spread life all over Vitcoona's surface, for the mana found around the World Tree is extraordinary. It is purer than the mana found elsewhere and several degrees of magnitude more potent. Indeed, the World Tree is the only naturally occurring source of White Mana on Vitcoona's surface or within the depths of Vitcoona's Underworld.
The World Tree is said to exude an aura of calm around it. Looking upon the Tree quells even the mightiest of fears and gives renewed vigor to weary travelers. The Tree feels like a mother to those living under its boughs. It shields them from the harsh summer heat, and it traps the warmth of spring during brutal winters. It is because of this motherly affect that travelers will come be especially happy to seek rest under the eaves of the World Tree.
The World Tree is an evergreen tree whose leaves and bark resemble Oaks, but there are some key differences. The biggest difference that marks the World Tree as its own independent species is the its bark is shaped in such a way that even novice climbers can easily scale the Tree. The leaves are thick and a dark green. The Tree is also a light source. During the day, the light of Tree isn't visible, but at night the Tree provides a yellow light that almost exactly duplicates the light of a lantern. This light makes it where the High Elves have no need to light the streets of Sunsight or even some of the outlying villages of the Kingdom of Sunsight.

Purpose / Function
The World Tree was placed by The Three to serve as an anchor for Element of Nature upon the surface of Vitcoona. The World Tree is an Arch-Pylon. It was not created with the purpose of being worshiped, but rather its purpose was to be studied and protected.
Now the purpose given to the World Tree by the High Elves of Sunsight is the purpose of worship. They view the Tree as the source of all life, and they venerate it to an unhealthy degree of obsession. The most obsessive of the High Elves become Children of the Tree. These Children are borderline violent in their goal of preserving the Tree as it is now, and as it will grow to be.
