Conflict Orientation
The Fae live westward of the High Elves of Sunsight City have a great deal of bad blood between them. Specifically, the zealots under Thrond Sunseeker have stirred up strife between the docile Fae and the intellectual High Elves. At this point in the war, the Fae have been successful in thwarting the machinations of Thrond and his minions, but they need something more to truly run off the cultists.Motives
Thrond Sunseeker started this war in the shadows because he desired to learn how the Fae's magic worked. He kidnaps their people in the hopes that he can study them and come to control their magic as his own. He does not see the Fae as a people to themselves, but as magically imbued livestock to be exploited for whatever means he sees fit. The Fae desire to be left alone. They are a people in their own right. The Fae are not animals or magical pets. They work quietly to retrieve their stolen members and weaken the Sunseeker cult. They know full well that they will not be left in peace until Thrond is dethroned and the Sunseeker's are defanged. The Conflict
Prelude
The Fae lived in their forest for almost three thousand years with minimal interaction with the outside world. Outsiders did not interfere with the Fae, and the Fae were content to keep to themselves. That changed when Thrond Sunseeker came seeking power. At the time, he was still early in his career as a cult master, and he saw an opportunity to dramatically advance his influence. His first move was to kidnap a handful of Fae younglings. While he was successful in escaping back to Sunsight City; he was not successful in eluding the Fae who pursued him to retrieve the younglings. In the end, the younglings were rescued, and Thrond began a campaign in the shadows to abduct and study more Fae.
