In 1110 AC, king Gerwin sent his army of Runik Knights to enforce an anti-magic law to other kingdoms willing to adopt a prohibition of magic to their lands as well, initiating a huge mage-hunt that resulted in the thousands of deaths of magic-users throughout the realm.   The Rose suffers greatly from this movement as hundreds of Runik Knights raid towers of wizards in their own lands, waging an unofficial war that lasted for almost two hundred years.   After the “Canal War” in 1340 AC against the Freelanders of the North, the kingdom of Esgolithon establishes the first real trade network between the two kingdoms under the reign of Fergor Spirithail, who was responsible for declaring the Canal Treaty.
