The 2nd Quest

The 2nd Quest began with the end of the Battle of the Four Daughters. When Nedel was defeated at Gualekir by the united factions (daughters) of the Allies, the world of Vitallia turned a page. The Cell had been destroyed and thus, Nedel's kingdom was free again. In these dark lands, however, Nedel had left behind forces, generals, and soldiers to guard his lands. In the east, the allies had been completely exhausted after the battle and their remaining forces could barely carry out such a difficult mission. However, several people answered the call and so a massive expedition was formed to reach the West and purge the lands of the evil that remained there. Members of this expedition were people from the kingdoms of Lothen but included tribes from Sol, Sarta, and Igros. And so the 2nd Quest was formed, and just as thousands of years before, the 1st Quest had combined the forces of mortals and gods against Nedel, now, the armies of the 2nd would follow a leader who had gained fame and power from the war. It was Mohak, who was quick to lead these people into the barren lands of the western peninsula.

The expedition lasted for months, and in that time, the army of men clashed with Nedel's forces in the necropoli that lay in the Darklands, gaining territory slowly, with blood and sword with each battle in a place barren and dark that tested their bodies and souls daily. The most important battle was fought at the foot of the Naked Mountain, against a Nedel general named Varnal and the Thrax brothers, whose name was ancient, from the time of the Silver Moon. Out of the battle emerged Ruskar Val, a warrior who was later named King of Orkandus in the west. But the lands beyond the Bare Mountains were dead and barren, and no man could survive hunger, thirst, and hardship. There, Mohak showed the people the power of the Sacred Blood and the practices of blood magic that would allow them, at a cost, to survive in those unholy lands. But Ruskar Val refused to embrace this new religion because he held the gods of the Final Light too close to his heart, and so the tribes of men were peacefully divided. The people of Mohak conquered the western part of the peninsula and founded Caran, becoming the Sirakrat, those who embraced the sacred blood of Mohak, and the rest followed Ruskar Val and founded Orkadus, an autonomous kingdom in the eastern part of the Darklands.
