Serenity

Serenity could be considered the newest religious establishment in Gildenburg and is arguably the most powerful.

Structure

With how big a reach Serenity has, it's an incredibly small organization.  It is made up of 3 Saints. (A term used for the highest member of Serenity).     All other members are simply addressed as disciples. They are often the ones sent to retrieve religious taxes, deliver letters on the Saints behalf, and many more trivial tasks.

Culture

Members of Serenity mostly keep to themselves. Saints & Disciples generally live alone, with very little social life. Very little people know just who the Saints are.   The 3 Saints often wear the most lavish robes available, directly sourced from Highwater's finest tailors   Disciples are often adorned in plain white robes with a collar.

Public Agenda

Serenity believes that all of the Gods of Viridium deserve respect equally, thus all religions and gods should be allowed to be worshiped. There must be darkness to have light, there must be death to have life.   Serenity makes no public appearances, and very little every comes out of the church.   They exist solely because of the Dietic Treaty of Gildenburg, which in 20,493 was signed by the major churches in Gildenburg. As more migrants came into the city, the variety of religions greatly grew. To enable a safe haven for many of the Great Wars refugees to practice their religions, this treaty was quickly passed.   There are mainly two benefits to the treaty:
  1. All religion, and every god, was free to be worshipped within the compounds of Gildenburg, as long as no harm was done to anyone unwilling.
2. Taxes that were originally charged by the Crown of Gildenburg, will now be collected through Serenity and its disciples. This is the ensure an independent party is taxing every church equally. As the Crown of Gildenburg has an established allegiance with The Luminous Union.
