Sands of Fire- Campaign Notes
Welcome one and all to another solo campaign. Set in the world of Violem and using my own TTRPG TG20 - Homebrew Rules. Adapted from Tunnels Goons V1.2 by Nate Treme. All credit goes to him for coming up with the original rules, link for the original rules can be found here.
Upon waking up in a dark and dusty room. Charaban picks himself up and begins searching for some kind of light source. After scraping together supplies, our adventurer creates a make shift torch to reveal the room he stands inside. An ancient stone tomb at the centre with old language carved on the side. The lid of the tomb is broken into three parts. Inside it, nothing. A sudden chill crawls down Charaban's back as the realisation of the potential undead wandering this burial site. Suddenly the noise of chatter comes from the only entrance to the room. Our hero tries to hide before the voices arrive...
Session 1:
- Charaban wakes up in Tomb of Rhyde, next to an open crypt
- Realises there is a Wandering Mummy
- Saved by grave diggers and guided out of tomb
- Escape safely, introduced to Rhusier & Leffaeh
- Charaban can’t remember past
- Travel to Si-Ale but stop off at strange cave
- Nothing of value just a lonely wight
Session 2:
- Near town, mirage emerges before the party
- Enter strange ventilated building, cool breeze and refreshing air
- Attacked by artwork, saved by Curator, Sho-San, lets them go, gives tickets for grand opening in 3 weeks
- Arrive at town of Si-Ale
Session 3:
- Shop for supplies at bazaar style village
- Try reading Book of Pharaohs, goto bookstore to translate, shopkeeper Aru deciphers a little
- Learn of the 5 ancient nations
- Agree to travel together, find temples and search for memories
- Find thugs terrorizing traveler, intervene and fight thugs, save Vekor, merchant
- Leave Si-Ale and head for known temple, ambushed by Fire Beetle in night, Rhusier killed
Session 4:
- Hold burial for Rhusier, Leffaeh feels numb at funeral, follow beasts to lair
- Enter and lay waste to fire beetles in rage
- Accidentally knock over trinket, free a Djinn called Babagash
- Excited to be free and asks to travel together, joins party and leave the lair
- Exit the lair, spot temple on horizon, Baba recognises and suggest going for help
Session 5:
- Leffaeh disappears, mourns for brother alone
- Party plan to regroup in Si-Ale instead
- Learn Baba is from the ancient times tells tale of being hunted and caged
- Ambushed by shadow creatures, spot thugs in distance
- Race back to Si-Ale, gather more supplies
- Baba can’t enter bookshop due to warding, Aru threatens him
- Explains Djinn Hunters to party, purging evil from the world
- Baba says he can read book of Pharaohs, Aru brings down the warding
- Baba tells legend of the Amulet of Fi-Ka-Rah, broken into 5 shards and hidden across the 5 nations
- Plan to find Amulet as party, Aru warns them of Baba, believes not to be trusted
- Look for hired help in Si-Ale, try hiring in tavern, fail miserably
- Woman walks upto them at end of the night, offers assistance for large payout
- Party accepts Havess the Bronze Seeker offers the party to rest in guild hall
- Meet Bronze Seeker leader Alunatar, rest for night, plan to find Amulet next morning
Session 6:
- Travel to temple of Dhaedis, leader of an ancient kingdom
- Ambushed by dehydrated bat beasts, Ullas
- Pass Rhusier’s grave, Leffaeh tells story of children playing in home in Fi-Ha
- Arrive at temple, find thugs surrounding entrance
- Plan an attack at front doors, take out Eternal Flame thugs, enter temple
- Search and locate piece of the amulet, accidentally awaken spirit of Dhaedis
- Think they kill the spirit, Eternal Flame steal amulet during battle
- Spirit possesses a dead Eternal Flame member, battle again
- Leave the temple empty handed, plan to follow Eternal Flame
Session 7:
- Party follow Eternal Flame across the desert
- Havess asks for more pay, causes tension in the party
- Find Eternal camp, steal back amulet shard and a second piece
- Caught and chased out of the camp, Charaban separated
- Charaban wakes up again lost in the desert
- Stumbles onto a water farm, farmer offers aid if he sorts out phase spider issue
- Stop spiders on the evening, given map of area and travels to Lummien
- Meet Edorya, save her from random thugs
- Edorya steals Book of Pharaohs in the night, Charaban arrives at Lummien next day
Session 8:
- Wandering around town, recognises a symbol on door, let into mystery building
- Meet The Collector, leader of the Hoarders, demands the crown of Rhyde, Charaban confused
- Collector figures out his memory is missing
- Collector explains that Charaban and his brother work for him
- Asks about brother, Brother is missing, both were presumed dead
- Charaban makes a deal to find book of Pharaohs for info on his brother
- Gathers supplies, plan to hide amulet shards and return to Si-Ale
- Travels the desert, find adventuring party fighting a sand worm
- Party of Alum angry for his help, also work for Hoarders (Rivals)
- Charaban falls into sinkhole, find a collection of tunnels
- Hides one amulet shard in the wall
- Rescued by camel walkers, Orhan & Ukeli, they offer to take Charaban to Si-Ale
Session 9:
- Party fight and escape Eternal Flame camp, quickly return to Si-Ale
- Rest in old fortress at night, find spirit and his angry ghost friends
- Put the ghosts to rest, save Tixon the friendly ghost and he disappears
- Return to Bronze Seekers guild hall, explain adventures to Alunatar
- Leader refuses to help the party stop the Eternal Flame
- Offers to protect 1 amulet shard in secret
- Shop around town for supplies, Next day, plan to search for Charaban
- Interrupted by Bronze Seekers, warn Djinn hunters are looking for Baba
- Party sneak out of town, continue search for Charaban
- Ambushed by Djinn hunters in desert, the hunters run away
- Party hear rumbling below ground, fall into some kind of glass cave
- Walk down to find a a buried underground garden
Session 10:
- Break inside and find mutated cactus plants, fight way to throne room
- Meet Cereus, a sentient cactus beast
- Make deal with Cereus, party finds info on gardeners who abandoned him and Cereus will let them live
- Escape garden and make way to fort Waeldon, find Bronze Seeker tents
- Find out Si-Ale was overrun by Djinn Hunters, forced to leave
- Plan to take back Si-Ale with Bronze Seekers
Session 11:
- Alunatar leads party on charge against Djinn Hunters
- Discover Aru was a Djinn Hunter, sent them after Baba
- Battle with Aru but she escapes
- Alunatar killed during battle, Charaban arrives after the battle and the party is reunited
